The resort set in the serene surrounding of the hills made
an ideal place for training of
corporates through board room ,and outdoor activities .
As I stayed a day longer to spend time out on my own ,I began lazying and looking at people who had checked in for the day .
Anne ,Ben and Carol were a part of 25 people team sent for a day of pure recreation from their organisation with no planned activities or presentations .
As I lay cradled in
the hammock looking at these revellers a
thought evolved in my mind.
Ideally life is like this swimming pool .The shallow part feels the safest to dive ,but you are allowed to dive in the deep only .Imagine that on the surface
at the deep side are some obstacles /challenges
.One can quickly dive and escape from under that to enjoy the whole pool.
There are 3 types of people like Anne ,Carol and Ben.
Anne the type of
person- so headstrong in his or her views or opinion who tries to
change the orientation of the pool.
Ben who decided that shallow portion was indeed the best to
dive rather than take on the challenges.Swam in the safest part of the pool and enjoyed the pool.
Carol who studied the scenario and took some calculated
risks and dived in the deep, swam below the obstacles and swam in the entire
pool.
Usually the Anne’s are the disgruntled lot who want to
change the whole system regardless of the time limits ,land up being more angry
and unhappy with everything- but themselves.
Ben’s prioritise ,know their limitations or set limitations for
themselves and lead a safe and happy -usually a mediocre life.
The Carol’s of the world are the risk takers who weigh the
pros and cons but do not over analyse and
jump in( some times land up being tangled in the obstacles) but usually find
solutions to enjoy their swim on their own terms and conditions .
